Good morning. New restrictions for teens on social media were rolled out this week in an effort to combat child safety issues - a move that will affect how tens of millions of teens interact with the platform. But some experts are worried that policymakers are too focused on the harmful effects of social media platforms and have overlooked the benefits, as outline in The Washington Post. Also this week, TikTok made its case in court against the bill that would require it to be divested by Bytedance or else risk a nationwide ban. The case isn’t expected to be decided until after November’s election.
